Update

I've just been informed that NONPLUS006 and NONPLUSLP001 are on test press and are on the way to me as we speak.  AUTONOMIC003 has also been sent for mastering, so things are moving along.  Won't be too much longer now.

Mindspan - The Aeon Expanse LP

Just been cleaning up the studio tonight and I've found 9 sealed shrink wrapped copies of the LP on CD.  This was a successful ambient/dub techno project I put together a few years back, which sold out.  These remaining copies are from my personal collection.  If you are interested, drop me an email at - EDIT: I have no more copies left.

Also, I had been working on a follow up to this for some time, but never got round to finishing it.  It's now complete and I'm looking for a way of getting it out.  More news if and when it happens.

Fluxion

Sat up listening to Fluxion.  Too good.  That's all.

Brian Eno

Listening to Brian Eno's Music For Films LP at the moment from 1976.  The guy is a genius in my opinion.  It's by no means his best work, that for me, would be 'The Pearl' in collaboration with Harold Budd, but this is up there along with Apollo.  Great music to listen to for inspiration.

Nothing Is Certain Preview - BBC Radio 1 - 17th March 2010

You can hear the first radio play of a number of the tracks from the LP in a short mix I've done for Mary Anne Hobbs' show, which airs on BBC Radio 1 tomorrow at 02:00-04:00 GMT.  Check it out and after the 'listen again' option disappears from their site, which is usually a week or so, then I might throw up an MP3 of the mix.

Lots of music

The amount of music about at the moment is nothing short of staggering.  Over the last month or so, I've been receiving some very high quality tracks via AIM and Soundcloud.  I've also been hearing a lot of good tracks from other people on various mixes and radio shows and such.  What is surprising, is a lot of these tracks I've been sent are from people I've never heard of until now, and the standard is of a decent level.  The only thing I'd suggest to any newcomers, is try and take your influences from outside of drum & bass, try and do something new.  As nice as some of these tracks are, I can't help feel that a bunch of these have been produced by listening to the Autonomic Podcasts and then trying to have a go at that style.

Anyway, I don't mean to get negative, as that wasn't the point in the post, so to all you producers out there sending me your music, keep it coming, and keep trying to do your own thing!

Blu Mar Ten - She Moves Through (ASC Remix)

The original was always a fave of mine from back in the day.  I'd often open up sets with it.  This remix came about after a chat with Chris from Blu Mar Ten, when he suggested I should take a crack at it.  We both knew that because the original was signed to a label that would never let it come out, that there was a very high percentage this would stay as a dubplate, but I thought what the hell and did the remix anyway out of love for the original purely.

Anyway, after a number of months doing the rounds in the sets of Instra:mental, dBridge, Loxy, Doc Scott and obviously Blu Mar Ten and myself, we decided that it was time to offer it you in MP3 format for free.  Now you are probably skimming this text thinking, ok, where's the link at?  Go here, and follow the instructions:

Vaccine - LA - Smog - TONIGHT

Heading up to LA shortly to see my wife drop her 3rd live PA on LA at Smog.  She's supporting Shackleton on his world tour, who is also playing live.  If you are in the area, come along for some bass heavy music all night long.

Rhythm & Sound - Imprint

Yep.  A single post just for this track.  I'd forgotten about this gem until listening to it for the first time in a criminally long time tonight.  Absolute genius.  Oh, and for the record, this clip on youtube was cut at 10 mins due to video length restrictions.  The original is a mindblowing 16:51

btw, new studio mix coming very very soon - just gotta sort a final running order and then record it.
